Better solution. Buy some Round-Up, and spray a 12

If you don't like chemicals, buy some Typar Housewrap (Dark colour) and put a 24" square or circle around each tree, and pile some bark, wood chips etc. on it to keep it down. Water gets through, weeds can't.
Beats walking around with the weed whacker.
Anyone tried invisible fencing on sheep? Works for my neighbours dogs, thought it might work for sheep as well. Don't want electric fence wire strung around my yard, but invisible fencing might be just the ticket. Are sheep smart enough to figure it out?

I have asked the same question several times, and there are 2 distinct camps.<br>One camp is that the mid-mount is a pain to put on and take off, that it <br>reduces ground clearance too much, and that it just ends up getting you hung<br>up on stuff when you makethat inevitable trip into the rough stuff. In addition<br>they tend to cost a lot more.<br>The other camp says that the mid mount cut is much better, the tractor is more manueverable<br>with the mid-mount deck, you can trim closer to obstructions without hitting or<br>running over them (I lost several small trees this way)and you don't get a crick<br>in your neck looking backwards all day.<br>So the decision is yours, and depends on your application. If you do a lot of tight<br>trimming, and want a golf green lawn, get a mid mount, (and pay more) If you do a <br>lot of loader and rough work, get a 3-point, and save some green. Likewise, if <br>you have a lot of wide open work, a 3-point may be more cost-effective.<br>Whatever you decide, check out the convenience factor of taking it off and putting<br>it back on. If it takes more than about 5 minutes, you will probably never remove<br>it.<br>GM
